22 Dec, 2015

A parliamentary panel has decided to register a complaint with the Speaker National Assembly over non-serious and non-co-operative attitude of ministers and parliamentary secretary of the Communication Ministry towards the committee meetings.
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Communications met here on Monday under the chairmanship of Sufyan Yusuf to discuss the China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC). Neither state minister nor parliamentary secretary attended the meeting. Yusuf said during last several meetings briefing documents were not provided to the committee on time. The ministers remained absent from important meetings and this attitude is very disappointing, said committee chairman, adding that it has been decided to write a letter to the Speaker on the matter. Secretary Communication Shahid Ashraf Tarar said that action will be taken against the officials involved in delay of preparing briefing documents and presentations. Later, in protest, committee members postponed the meeting.
