Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan on Monday launched the Rs 1 billion interest free loan scheme for poor and deserving people of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). Speaking at a ceremony held to launch the Fata's first-ever interest-free loan scheme with the assistance of Messrs Akhuwat at Mohmand Agency's headquarters Ghalanai, he said that interest free loan scheme will not only support small-scale entrepreneurs in Fata, but would also help the poor and deserving men and women of the area.
He said that interest free loans will gradually be provided to every tribal agency. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Messrs Akhuwat's chairman Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, MNA Malik Bilal Rehman, MNA from South Waziristan Nazeer Khan, PML-N's provincial general secretary Rehmat Salam Khattak, Additional Chief Secretary Fata Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Fata Development Authority's chief executive Dr Fida Muhammad Wazir,Political Agent Waqar Ali Khan, Commandant Mohmand Rifles Hafiz Muhammad Asif and tribal elders.
