At least three suspected terrorists including key commander of a banned outfit were killed during a raid by Frontier Corps (FC) in Turbat on Tuesday. Frontier Corps (FC) spokesman told the media that the operation was held on a tipoff received about the presence of criminal elements. The alleged terrorists opened fire at security officers retaliating to which, all the three militants were killed.
The spokesman said that the miscreants were involved in heinous crimes and other acts of terrorism. However, forces also claimed to have confiscated huge cache of weapons from the possession of dead suspects. Officials said more than 3,000 militants have been killed since the launch of the latest offensive in tribal areas of Pakistan. Pakistani security forces have been battling militants for over a decade following the late 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan.
