KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani awarded officials of Peshawar police intelligence, operational, investigation and mobile forensic units on joint venture against militants, extortionists, kidnappers and target killers in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Thursday.
Led by SSP Operation Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed, these units gave tough time to the terrorists, kidnappers, extortionists and target killers and dismantled their network. 272 hardcore criminals including terrorists, kidnappers, extortionists, members of banned organisations and target killers were nabbed and 500 kilograms explosive materials, six suicide jackets, arms and ammunition, mortar shells, stolen vehicles and 400,000 fake currency were recovered.
Intelligence wing used to collect information by visiting the volatile affected areas in disguise, then Operational wing in the light of these information conducted raid on it, then Interrogation wing interrogated the arrested criminals and their committed crimes were established through mobile forensic Unit. While addressing on the occasion, KP IGP highly commended the leading role of Dr Mian Saeed and untiring efforts of his team. The IGP pointed out that KP police was delivering in the most unfavourable and volatile situation where death was lingering on their heads anytime but it was a matter of great pride that despite all these difficulties the jawans are exhibiting unprecedented courage and boldness in line of duty and directed them to tighten the noose around the neck of the most wanted out laws and further take up the scale of its success to its zenith.
