The Directorate General of Post-Clearance Audit (PCA) Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made record detections of Rs 1.752 billion during July-December (2015-16) against Rs 223.37 million in the same period last fiscal year, showing a remarkable growth of 684.36 percent. According to the data of the PCA released by the FBR here on Friday, the Directorate General PCA has recovered an amount of Rs 29.39 million during July-December (2015-16) against Rs 9.08 million in corresponding period of 2014-15, showing an increase of 223.67 percent.

On the other hand, regional directorate of Karachi has made recovery of Rs 5.1 million during this period against Rs 6.27 million, reflecting a negative growth of 18.66 percent. Among all regional directorates the recovery made by Lahore directorate of PCA is comparatively better than Karachi and Islamabad during this period.
The PCA Islamabad has made detection of Rs 4.53 million during the said period and made recovery of Rs 0.03 million. The detection of such a large number of cases of under-invoicing, misdeclarations and evasion of huge duties/taxes through post-clearance audit reflects importance of such a key department of the FBR. The DG PCA Karachi has also detected other cases in different sectors, reflecting remarkable performance of the directorate with limited workforce, sources added.
