July-November period: leather garments export down 19 percent

The country's leather garments export fell to $136.996 million in July-November 2015-16, down by 19 percent, official figures said. Leather garments export decline stands at $31.917 million in July-November 2015-16 as compared to their export of $168.913 million in July-November 2014-15, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics indicates. In term of volume, the country's leather garments export plunged by 17.47 percent or 76, 000 dozens to 359,000 dozens in July-November 2015-16 from 435,000 dozens in July-November 2014-15.
In November 2015, leather garments export posted a fall of 20 percent or $6.093 million to $25.092 million as compared to their export of $31.185 million in November 2014. Export volume of leather garments also lowered by 15.28 percent or 11, 000 dozens to 61,000 dozens in November 2015 from 72,000 dozens in November 2014, the statistics show.
