Country's gold import bill soared by 25.06 percent to $11.208 million in July-November 2015-16, official figures say. The gold import increase stood by $2.246 million in July-November 2014-15 as compared to the precious metal import of $8.962 million in July-November 2014-15, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) suggests. Volume of gold import in July-November 2015-16 surged by 37.04 percent or 80 kilograms to 296 kilograms from 216 kilograms in July-November 2014-15.
In November 2015, the country's gold import, however, declined by 12.48 percent or $0.287 million to $2.012 million from $2.299 million in November 2014. Volume of gold import in November 2015 grew by 2 percent or 1 kilogram to 57 kilograms from 56 kilograms in November 2014.
