Taimur maintains lead in Asghar Khan Amateur Golf

International Golfer Taimur Naseer maintained his lead on the second day by carding an excellent four under 140 over 36 holes of the 54-hole Air Marshal Asghar Khan National Amateur Golf Championship being played here PAF Golf Course on Saturday.
Taimur Naseer added a superb 71, one under with his overnight score 69 to complete a total of 140, four under par over 36 holes at gross. Taimur, who is decided to turn pro and it going to play his first tournament as Junior Professional, carded 36, par, at front nine and 35, one under at back nine by hitting four birdies at holes no. 6, 7, 8 and 17. He also missed a stroke at hole no. 2, 3 and 4.
"I have decided to play as a pro and that is why I will be going to Karachi to part in the trials to be held at junior pro," Taimur said. "I also hit all regulations and scored only four birdies because I missed some three footer and five footer birdies," he added.
"The course was so hard and dry that is why the ball rolled fast and despite landing at all regulations failed to make more birdies which marred my overall performance," he further added.
Another promising golfer Naeem Ahmad is struggling at second with his gross scores seven over par 151 over 36 holes. Naeem Ahmad carded 36, par, at front nine and three over par, at back nine with two birdies and three bogies. Inayatullah Yousafzai carded 152, eight over par, by adding 75, three over par; to his overnight score 77, five over par. He scored 36, par, at front nine and 39, three over par, at back nine with one birdie and missed a stroke at hole no. 7 and 13.
In the Net category, 14 HCP Rehmat Ullah was the leader on the second day with his Net score 135. He hit 66 and 69 on the two day round. Wing Commander Shahbaz Khan carded 138, three under par, struggling at second and Kabir Khan with his 141 Net remained at third.
