LGH to award first Asma Kanwal Shaheed Gold Medal

Lahore General Hospital Administration has decided to award first Asma Kanwal Shaheed Gold Medal to first position holder student of the Nursing School LGH, Shahr Banu who was also the class fellow of Asma Kanwal during 2nd year. Shahr Banu has also attained third position in overall results of the Nursing Board Punjab. Lahore General Hospital Nursing School has also maintained its record to produce 100 percent result in the Nursing Board Examination this year also.
Principal PGMI and LGH Professor Khalid Mahmood has congratulated the students and their teachers of Nursing School and said that they have earned laurel for their institution by gaining such excellent results. He announced to hold a graceful function very soon wherein Asma Kanwal Gold Medal would be awarded to Shahr Banu and other students would also be given prizes and commendatory certificates in recognition of their brilliant performance. He said that credit for this success also goes to Principal Nursing School Raeesa Ishtiaq and staff members especially Azra Sultana, Azra Pervin and Raqia Bano.
Professor Khalid Mahmood also paid rich tribute to martyred nurse student Asma Kanwal who sacrificed her life while serving the dengue patients and hence set a great example of selflessness and to live for others. He said that Asma Kanwal has become a role model for all the nurses, nurse students and the girls who will join this noble profession in future.
He also appreciated the vision and commitment of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who united all the medical force of the province against dengue and other epidemics and with the help of devoted and dedicated persons like Asma Kanwal, he won this war against the diseases.
