A meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet is likely to approve financing of pipeline infrastructure development plan of the upcoming LNG supply today (Tuesday), it was learnt, Sources said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has directed from China for convening a meeting of ECC to take up the project. The meeting is also likely to approve provision of 124,000 metric ton wheat to World Food Programme (WFP) for temporary displaced persons.
They added that as agenda of the meeting was still being finalised and would take up final shape after the arrival of Dar from China late in the evening, some more items may also be included for the meeting. So far, they added financing of pipeline infrastructure development plan of LNG and anticipated indigenous supplies and provision of wheat to WFP has been finalised. Sources in the Finance Ministry stated usually some proposals of ministries and divisions are distributed among the members of the ECC during the meeting for discussion and approval.
