KP Governor visits campus, gets briefing on attack

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that the entire nation was united with the security forces in the fight against terrorism adding that the fight against militancy will be continued till the elimination of last terrorist. Governor said that the terrorism oriented subversive activities, has been a great challenge for us as the nation.
Talking to media on the premises of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda university premises, the Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan strongly denounced terrorists attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda and expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives. mHe paid tribute to the security forces, officers and jawans of Pak Army, police and other rescue team's personnel for their timely response.
The Governor said that terrorists and their facilitators and sympathizer would be rooted out from within the country. He categorically said that perpetrators involved in this heinous act will not be spared at any cost and would be dealt strictly. The Governor said that the loss of precious lives is itself a very tragic and shocking aspect of the entire scenario which beyond doubt is an irreparable loss. The Governor assured that innocent people would not be left at the mercy of terrorists.
Terming the terrorist attack as cowardly act, the governor said such attacks could not deter the national resolve to eliminate wave of militancy and terrorism. He said that now the terrorists are targeting the mosques, schools and innocent people and termed the university attack a cowardly act of terror.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan arrived at Bacha Khan University; Charsadda on Wednesday soon after the terrorist attack on the university wherein a number of precious lives lost their lives and leaving many injured. Governor met with officers and jawans of Pak Army, police and rescue teams who carried out the successful operation and killed the terrorists. A detailed briefing was also given to the Governor about the terrorist attack, situation and the rescue operation. He also visited different sections of the university affected by terrorist attack.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Chief Secretary KP, Amjad Ali Khan, Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Nasir Khan Durrani, military and civil officers and others were also present. On the occasion, the Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has made phone call to the Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and discussed the situation arising out of the terrorist attack.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned attack on Bacha Khan University and showed his grief over the loss of precious lives. He has vowed to cripple terror network and eliminate extremism from the country. He said terrorism is a national issue and strict action will be taken against the facilitators of terrorists. Later the Governor visited to the DHQ hospital Charsadda where he inquired after the health of the victims of terrorist attack on Bacha Khan. The governor went to each and every injured and met with them. Talking to near and dear ones of the victims within the premises of the hospital, the Governor expressed solidarity and extended moral support to the attack victims and examined the state of healthcare and treatment facilities being offered to them. He directed the relevant officials that best medical treatment should be given to the injured.
Earlier, the Governor, soon after the attack contacted Chief Secretary KP and army officers to abreast he regarding updates on the attack. Sardar Mehtab said safety of the teachers and students must be given top preference during the operation against terrorists.
