Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday telephoned Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and shared with him intelligence information of terror attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda. According to the Army Spokesman Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa, General Raheel also shared the information with Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and commander of Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan General John Campbell.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the Army Chief asked for their cooperation in locating and targeting those responsible for this heinous act and bringing them to justice. The Army Spokesman tweeted that investigation into the Charsadda university attack has revealed that it was being controlled from a location in Afghanistan through an Afghan cell-phone by a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operative. At least 20 people were killed when four unidentified gunmen opened fire in Bacha Khan University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Charsadda on Wednesday.
Earlier, in a press conference on Wednesday, Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa claimed that they have made major breakthroughs in identifying terrorists. He also said forensics and fingerprints of the attackers had been shared with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra).
