ESR 1122 imparts training to over 40,000 teachers

Director General Punjab Emergency Service Brigadier Dr Arshad Zia (retd) reviewed the consolidated reports of School Safety Trainings and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) trained by Emergency Service Rescue (ESR) 1122 previous year. The data revealed that Emergency Service Rescue 1122 imparted training to 40,840 teachers in 503 training courses during school safety campaign. Besides, 2,635 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members were trained to promote safety culture through sensitisation and training at grassroots level.
Head of Community Safety Wing, Ms Roqiya Bano Javed, briefed Director General that a significant number of teams are constituted and trained to response with Emergency Service in case of any major disaster. The CERTs have been established at union council level in all districts of the Punjab and after enrolment, these volunteers have been trained for community action for Disaster Response (CADRE) and Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR).
