'Balochistan to get $7 billion under CPEC project'

Balochistan province will be receiving over $7 billion funds as its share from investment to be made under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industries (QCCI), Jamal Khan Tarakai told APP that the provincial Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattha, during his visit to the QCCI, has assured that industrialists and traders of Balochistan would get adequate share from the funds to be spend under CPEC.
Elaborating, he said: "Industrialist parks will be established in Zhob, Quetta, Khuzdar, Gwadar and other areas of Balochistan where over US$7 billion will be spent to build power plants and heavy industrial units for creating millions of jobs for youths of the province."
Provincial government had started the process of acquiring land for construction of a six-lane western route of CPEC in Balochistan and work on the project has begun and would be completed within its stipulated period, the QCCI chief quoted the chief secretary as saying.
The CS had also informed the Quatta Chamber that billions of rupees were being spent on the construction of Gwadar International Airport.
The QCCI chief thanked the chief secretary for announcing that the owners of Balochistan's flour mills would be given wheat on rates of other provinces.
