Provincial Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has termed Tax Amnesty Scheme, a scheme for provision of protection to money, generated illegally and through loot and plunder. He expressed these views while addressing a training meeting of JI in a religious seminary of Haripur Sunday. He attributed the scheme to economic terrorism, which he termed more injurious than militancy and terrorism.
The provincial chief JI said that the ruling exploitative class instead of national interest has become guardian of their personal interest. The Tax Amnesty Scheme, he said is aimed at the protection of the plea bargain policy of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), defaulters of bank loans and exploitation of poor masses.
He urged the people for standing against new taxes amounting to Rs 100 billion to be imposed next month. He said that instead of providing relief to people, the government is out to follow the policies of World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that only JI has the leadership capable of bringing the country out of problems and putting it on the track of progress and development. He asked the people to support JI for the sake of the enforcement of Islamic Shariah and prosperous Pakistan.
He said that indirect taxes have made the lives of the poor miserable while on the other hand the share of capitalists and industrialists in the national economy is nominal.
