Lahore General Hospital Administration has launched a new security plan for the hospital to ensure safety of the patients, their attendants and staff. The administration has banned the attendants to remain with in-door patients or enter into wards without having special security cards.
According to new security plan, non concerned persons would not be allowed to live at hostels of the hospital with the allotees neither any vehicle of outsiders would remain parked after fixed timings. More CC cameras would be installed to watch keenly the whole building continuously and all this process would be supervised by the Principal PGMI & LGH Professor Khalid Mahmood.
These decisions were taken in a meeting last day, presided over by Principal Professor Khalid Mahmood and attended by MS LGH Dr Niaz Ahmed, AMS Security Dr Rana Shafiq, administrative doctors and representatives of concerned private security company. Professor Khalid Mahmood stressed upon the security personals to remain more alert and active and do not allow any ambulance, wagon or rickshaw to be parked permanently in the hospital parking. He also directed to ensure verification by police of credentials of all those workers who supply meals and other items to hospital and also remain informed in case of the replacement of any such worker. He also directed the staff members to display their hospital identity cards during duty hours. Nursing administration must maintain the record of all the visitors in addition to strictly implement the visit timings.
Professor Khalid Mahmood directed the officials of police choky to keep patrolling in the premises of the hospital round the clock to ensure security of the visitors. He also emphasised the residents of hospital housing colony to keep vigilant and alert about their surroundings and inform duty DMS and police immediately on finding any thing suspicious. It may be mentioned that AMS and DMSs of evening and night shifts have been made duty bound to monitor sanitary inspectors and security guards and report the Principal in this regard on daily basis.
