Provincial Doctors Association has demanded of the provincial government to extend health professional package to the community, serving at different health facilities in various agencies of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas. Speaking at a news conference at press club here on Monday, PDA president of Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Dr Javed Iqbal said that the government had recently announced a health professional allowance for doctor's community under three-categories across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that a notification was also issued by health authorities on January 8 in this regard. He, however, said that the Fata doctors had been ignored in the package, which was tantamount to depriving 3.2 million population of the tribal region of their basic rights.
Flanked by PDA General Secretary Hayatabal Medical Complex, Dr Amir Gul, Dr Razzaq, Dr Farman Dr Gohar from tribal region, and representative of Malagri Doctoran KP, Dr Fazlur Rehman, he stated that the doctors had been recruited in Fata by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Service Commission (KP-PSC).
He further said that it was clearly mentioned in Presidential Ordinance 1972 that the employees of Fata should be availed all those incentives, facilities and allowances, which were extended to employees of provincial departments. Therefore, he said it is legitimate right and provincial government was bonded to extend the package under the rules.
