President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the death of former foreign minister Sahibzada Yaqoob Khan. The President said that his services for Pakistan would be remembered forever. The President in his condolence message prayed for salvation of the departed soul and commiserated with the bereaved family.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude. Meanwhile, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi also conveyed their heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of former foreign minister Sahabzada Yaqoob Khan.
In their messages, they prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry visited the house of late Sahabzada Yaqoob Khan here and condoled with his wife and both sons.
They also expressed condolences on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said a press release. While Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family over phone from London where he is currently accompanying the Prime Minister. The officers and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also deeply saddened and grieved over the death of Yaqoob Khan. During his outstanding career, Sahabzada Yaqoob Khan as Foreign Minister and Ambassador in Washington, Moscow and Paris had selflessly served Pakistan's interests at home and abroad. His services to Pakistan would be long remembered.
