Pakistan Customs has destroyed huge quantity of contraband items worth in millions on the occasion of International Customs Day. According to details, the Customs department has destroyed 22,400 bottles of liquor, 54,611 beer cans, different types of medicines, 16 kilograms of heroin and around 30,379 packets of different brands of chewing tobaccos worth in millions at Customs Colony, Mauripur.
This destruction exercise has been witnessed by the representatives of foreign embassies, head of different law enforcement agencies and large number of Customs officers. Earlier, the celebration of International Customs Day started early in the morning with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, which was followed by a parade. The flag was hoisted by Chief Collector South Enforcement Muhammad Zahid Khokar at Customs House, Karachi.
