Karachi Port's activities

The Karachi Port handled 3140,087 tonnes of cargo comprising 265,675 tonnes of import cargo and 48,412 tonnes of export cargo including 6,424 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 265,675 tonnes comprised of 95,185 tonnes of containerised cargo; 46,153 tonnes of general cargo; 20,792 tonnes of bulk cargo: 11,639 tonnes of coal; 1,800 tonnes of steel scrap; 1,952 tonnes of seed; 1,283 tonnes of canola; 4,118 tonnes of scrap broken part and 103,545 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,412 tonnes comprised of 43,059 tonnes of containerised cargo; 75 tonnes of general cargo and 5,278 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,424 containers comprising of 3,298 containers import and 3,126 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,539 of 20's and 683 of 40's loaded while 41 of 20's and 176 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,028 of 20's and 434 of 40's loaded containers while 256 of 20's and 487 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Hyundai Highness, Northern Genius, Sudair, Sea Fortune, Falcon Victory, MT Quetta, Great Ocean, Agria, Amis Ace, Ikan Jebuh, BBC Gdansk and Lamnalco Aden carrying containers, oil tankers, seeds, canola, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. OEL Dubai, KMTC Mumbai, Kota Kamil, Chemroute Sky, BBC Gdansk and Moonray carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were no ships sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were six vessels viz. Sima Prestige, ACX Crystal, Royal Emerald, UACC Shams, Sky Walker and Heilan Aroma carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas, coal and steel respectively due to arrive on Monday while two vessels viz. YM Excellence and Chemstar Masa carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
