National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has decided to establish a Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) for countering terrorism with increased interaction with Pakistan Customs, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for regular exchange of information between NACTA and customs authorities. In this regard, the FBR has issued instructions to the Collectors of Customs here on Thursday for Departmental Representative of Customs, FBR for placement in JID.
The letter said that NACTA, Islamabad requires to establish a Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) envisioned, under the NACTA Act, 2013 and Section 47 of National Internal Security Policy ISP, 2014-18). JID expected to serve as a seamless co-ordination platform for information exchange between NACTA and Pakistan Customs, with a view to achieve the common objective of countering terrorism and allied activities in the country. JID will consist of thirty (30) desks one of which will be headed by a BS-18 officer of Pakistan Customs, preferably having experience of serving in Directorate General Intelligence & Investigation-FBR, who will primary serve as a conduit of information exchange between NACTA and Pakistan Customs. NACTA, Islamabad has requested to forward a panel of three suitable officers, holding regular positions in BS-18, for selection of one officer by NACTA.
In view of the above, it is requested that names of such PCS/BS-18 officers who are interested in the above mentioned position and have relevant qualification and experience may be forwarded to FBR, alongwith their CVs, latest by 9th February, 2016, enabling FBR to proceed further in the matter, FBR added.
