Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in Multan

Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Multan and other parts of South Punjab on Friday to highlight the cause and the need for resolution of the longstanding dispute as per wishes of Kashmiri people. Religious parties, politico-religious organisations made a human chain which began from Chowk Ghanta Ghar to Hussain Agahi. Rallies, public meetings, functions and seminars were also held to draw attention of the world community towards the plight of Kashmiris.
Traders, social organisations staged demonstrations and burnt tyres on the road to express their anger against Indian atrocities. With comprehensive security arrangements, the day was marked in a befitting manner and hallmark of the day was human chain of Pakistanis and Kashmiris in Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Rahimyarkhan, Sadiqabad, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Layyah to reiterate complete solidarity with Kashmiri people. TV channels and radio stations presented special programmes to highlight different aspects of the Kashmir issue. A one-minute silence was also observed to pay honour to Kashmiri martyrs and pay tribute to the people of held Kashmir for their continuous struggle to achieve their right of self-determination.
