A petition against ban on union activities, enforcement of Essential Services Maintenance Act 1952 on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and privatisation of the national flag carrier was filed in Supreme Court on Saturday.
Filing the petition under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution, Syed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi made Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif through Principal Secretary, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Privatisation Muhammad Zubair, Secretary Privatisation Commission, Secretary Ministry of Defence, Secretary Civil Aviation, Director General Sindh Rangers, Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah, Chairman of the PIA, Dunya Television's anchor Kamran Khan, Union Leader of the PIA Sohail Baloch, Chairman Joint Action Committee of the PIA and General Secretary of the PIA League Zaghim Kayani as respondents.
