Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas Shafique Ahmed Mehesar has said that a Health Institute programme has been started in Tharparkar. He said this while chairing a meeting to review measures taken during last 30 days in Mithi, here on Sunday. He was briefed about healthcare steps and measures taken by representatives of various NGOs, as Hands, Shifa, and Thar-Deep.
Medical Superintendent (MS) informed the meeting that Sindh Government had issued, an additional budget, of Rs 146 million for medicines for civil hospital Mithi and order for purchasing medicine has also been issued to the companies. Divisional commissioner said that during the week as many as 151 ailing children were taken to different hospitals for treatments after identifying their ailments.
Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP) Co-ordinator Gulab told the meeting that for providing medical healthcare facilities in far flung areas of Tharparkar, a 3-day training would be given about the mother and child healthcare and in this regard 164 community health workers had been identified.
