Pesco Chief Executive Officer Anwar ul Haq has directed the installation of electric meters and cable on emergent basis. He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting of the Khyber Circle of the company here at Wapda House, Peshawar. Chief Engineer (Operation) Mohammad Iqbal Marwat, Superintending Engineer, Khyber Circle, Jamal Uddin, DCM, DDT, XEN Khyber, XEN Nowshera City, XEN Nowshera Cantt, XEN Kohat and XEN Hangu attended the meeting.
In the meeting all XENs of Khyber Circle were asked to facilitate customers and initiate important steps to improve Pesco performance. Pesco chief said that if public will remove Kundas and avoid illegal use of electricity, relief in load shedding will be given and load shedding will be minimised. He said that the quota of the province in power will be fully utilised with the support of provincial government.
He took serious notice of shortage of PVC and meters and ordered to immediately provide these items from the stores and if any employee found using delaying tactics in provision of new connections will be punished. The CEO issued instructions to the concerned officials to install electric meters in proper frames and bringing all meters to suitable height so that photo meter reading process could be completed successfully.
The meeting hailed the performance of some sub-divisions of Khyber Circle and some subdivisions was considered unsatisfactory and directed to improve their performance especially to decrease line losses and improve recoveries. Similarly, Pesco chief ordered for the publication of tenders for the purchase of new distribution transformers for public convenience while performance of transformers repair workshops was discussed in details and instructions were issued for bringing further improvement in their performance. He directed that damaged transformers in good recovery areas must be replaced immediately.
