The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of bail pleas filed by the employees of Axact in the fake degree scam and money laundering cases. Muhammad Rizwan, Adnan Saboor, Arif Hussain and Rizwan Ahmed and other employees of Axact approached the SHC to obtain bails after their pleas were dismissed by the sessions court. The applicants submitted that the charges labelled against them are baseless.
Headed by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, SHC bench, issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the prosecutor general Sindh, directing them to file their comments in the next hearing. Lawyers, Abid Zuberi and Amir Mansoob Qureshi, argued on behalf of the accused persons. The court directed FIA's counsel to file their comments in the next hearing on 18th February. Earlier, the special prosecutor of FIA, Barrister Zahid Jameel, had disassociated himself from the proceedings of the bail applications owing to unknown reasons.
