Capital police doing not much against rising crime rate

The incidents of robberies and dacoities by the armed intruders in the federal Capital registered an increase during past week despite hollow claims of police regarding strict security arrangements for controlling crimes. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations in the Capital registered six cases of robberies, five cases of auto thefts, 17 cases of dishonoured cheque and one case each of murder and road accident in which a person was killed during last week.
During the period under review, the criminals had a field day in the limits of Kohsar, Shehzad Town and Industrial Area police stations. Kohsar police station registered three cases of auto theft and four cases of dishonoured cheque. Motor vehicle thieves stole a Mehran car (LEE-2342) of Munza Ijaz worth Rs 400,000.
The thieves stole a bike (AGR-005) of Aqeel Ahmad Shah from Blue Area valuing Rs 96,000 and lifted another Mehran car (JME-4626) of Mujtab Kiani worth Rs 400,000. During last week, Shehzad Town police station registered one case each of robbery and road accident. Khan Muhammad of Dokh informed Shehzad Town police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and other valuables from his shop located in his house valuing Rs 100,000. Jawad Ahamd informed Shehzad Town police station that a speeding dumper (AE-0655) crushed to death his brother, Umer Shehzad.
Aabpara police station registered one case each of dishonoured cheque and robbery. Salman Ali of Sector G-6/2 lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that three unknown persons including a woman looted gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 250,000 from his house. Industrial Area police station registered one case each of dishonoured cheque and robbery. Aamir of sector I-8/4 informed Industrial Area police station that four armed persons broke into his shop and snatched cash of Rs 134,000 from him. During last week, Koral, Bani Gala, Sihala and Bara Kahu police stations registered one case each of robbery while Lohi Bheer and Kana police station registered one case each of auto theft.
Ramna police station registered four cases of fake cheque, Shalimar registered two cases of dishonoured cheque while Ternol, Shalimar, Shams Colony, Karachi Company and Golra police stations registered one case each of dishonoured cheque during last week.
