Tax amnesty scheme: government urged to remove flaws

Presidential Candidate for the forthcoming elections of Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA), Aamir Qadeer has urged the government to make tax amnesty scheme flawless. In presence of complexities, tax amnesty scheme would not give desired results. He was talking to a delegation of tax experts here on Monday. Former President of Lahore Tax Bar Association Zulfiqar Khan and a large number of senior lawyers were also present on the occasion.
Qadeer, who was former Secretary General of LTBA, said that there should be a clear definition of working capital and fixed assets for awareness of the business community. He said that in the existing shape, business community is unable to understand all aspects of this scheme.
He urged the government to remove the condition that only trader having electricity bill over 0.6 million rupees could be avail this scheme. He said that these conditions will certainly discourage the people to come into the tax net. He said that after becoming LTBA president, he would develop co-ordination between the FBR and Tax Bar more effective. He said that a special counter of National Bank would be established in the bar while dispensary would be reopened.
