The National Co-ordinator (NC) National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has started consultation with intelligence agencies regarding establishment of Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) in the authority. Sources said that Lieutenant Cdr Ihsan Ghani (Retd), NC NACTA on Monday held consultation with officials of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) with respect to establishment of JID. The NC NACTA would hold meeting with the officials of other intelligence agencies in this regard, they added.
They said that the work has been started on the establishment of JID and total 413 officers will be appointed in the directorate. The JID will consist of 30 disks, where officers of different departments and intelligence agencies will be appointed, they revealed.
Sources said that the NACTA has requested to the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan Customs for sending a panel of three officers holding regular positions in BS-18, for selection of one officer by the NACTA. The main objective to constitute JID is to ensure complete co-ordination and dissemination of real-time information among all 24 intelligence agencies operating in the country, they said.
