LSE delegation meets CM Punjab

A delegation headed by Director London School of Economics Craig Calhoun met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here on Wednesday. Matters relating to cooperation between Punjab government and London School of Economics in research sector were discussed in the meeting.
The prospects of exchange of students and faculty members of London School of Economics and educational institutions of Punjab were also discussed on the occasion and it was agreed to take more steps for keeping close liaison in future in this regard. Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz Sharif said that research cannot be ignored for benefiting from modern technology. He said that in view of importance of research, Punjab government will work with London School of Economic in development of research sector in future. He said that the expertise of London School of Economics will be benefited in this regard. The Chief Minister said that all possible cooperation will be extended with regard to international summit being held in Lahore next month under the aegis of London School of Economics.
The chief minister said that he himself would visit London School of Economics during his next visit to Britain. Director London School of Economics Craig Calhoun speaking on the occasion said that cooperation will be extended to Punjab government in research sector. He said that London School of Economic will hold international summit in Lahore next month. He said that the situation in Pakistan was improving. Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Advisor Dr Ijaz Nabi, Secretary Higher Education Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi and concerned officials were present on the occasion.
