A petition by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek challenging the indictment of its workers in the Model Town incident has been rejected. On Thursday, Rai Bashir representing the party told the Lahore High Court that an anti-terrorism court had indicted the workers in the case without meeting legal requirements. He also argued that the suspects never received copies of the charge-sheet before their indictment. But a law officer counter-claimed, saying the trial court had already summoned the prosecution witnesses and the petition never deserved to be heard at this stage.
