LHCBA elections today

As many as 12,879 registered members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association are voting today (Saturday) to pick their representatives. Among eligible voters, 8,536 bar members have failed to get registered and 5,223 are ineligible because of their pending dues. These are also included new members who registered after August 28, 2015, having no right of vote since the Pakistan Bar Council has put condition for a six-month standing for a voter.
Muhammad Ramazan Chaudhry of the Bhoon Group and Rana Zia-ur-Rehman of the Professional Group are vying for presidency. Six candidates are contesting for vice president. They are Sheikh Sakhawat, MR Awan, Sardar Tahir Shahbaz Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem, Mian Waseem and Rashid Lodhi.
