PFA seals four food outlets

27 Feb, 2016

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed four food outlets after charging them with flouting the hygiene rules and lacking staff medical certificates. Teams led by Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz on Friday sealed off the Pearl Foods Factory producing pickle by using unhygienic flavours and blue colour drums for chemical storage. Its staff lacked medical certificates too.
The Shalimar Town team closed down the Ghaas Mandi branch of a famous fast-food chain, Frichiks, on charges of using rancid oil for frying food, rotten vegetables and lacking printing manufacturing and expiry dates. Its Gulberg counterpart also sealed off the Pak Tent Services at the Kalma Chowk while the Samanabad Town team did the same with the Hafiz Sweets.
