Islamabad, KP White register win in U-20 hockey

Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa White recorded victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing National Junior Under-20 Boys Hockey Championship being played here at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium on Friday. Former World Champion Qamar Zaman was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the matches the players of all the four teams were introduced to him. Secretary KPK Hockey Association Syed Zahir Shah, Tournament Director Olympian Musaddiq Hussain, officials and players were also present on this occasion and witnessed the matches.
In the first match Islamabad defeated Gilgit-Baltistan by 6-0 in a thrilling encounter. Hamza of Islamabad was the pick of the pack who slammed in a beautiful hat-trick by scoring three consecutive goals on the field attempts in the 24th minute, 37th minute and 42nd minute. In the second match Khyber Pakhtunkhwa White defeated FATA by 7-0. Full-back Zahid Khan scored three consecutive goals on the penalty corners in the 11th, 17th and 23rd minute to make the tally 3-0 well before the half-time.
