Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Sunday inaugurated a project of houses completed by Children's Village Pakistan in collaboration with the Sindh government on the National Highways near Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur.
In the first phase, five homes have been completed and 10 more homes will be constructed in the second phase. The Sindh government has allotted 8 acres land and initially provided an amount of Rs 50 million for the project.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister Sindh said that those children who were neglected and deprived of parental love, affection and caring can be made useful citizens of the society by arranging their proper education and providing them training and conducive environment.
The Chief Minister eulogised the services rendered by Children's Village Pakistan and held out an assurance of continued financial and other assistance.
Javed Jabbar, who is also chairman of the Advisory Council of the Children's Village Pakistan, said that children neglected and deprived of love, affection and caring developed a deep sense of inferiority complex, adding that it was a collective obligation to make them a useful and successful citizen of the society.
He informed that Children's village Pakistan was striving hard for the last four decades and now had its presence in 17 cities and towns across the country with active support of philanthropists and well-to-do persons and institutions, adding that a good number of children, who were trained at these villages, were now leading successful lives.
