US Plains HRW wheat bids flat

04 Mar, 2016

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged at terminals around the southern US Plains on Tuesday. Grain dealers said farmer sales were slow, with prices well below targets that would spark a round of country movement, a Kansas dealer said.
Weakness in the futures market further depressed enthusiasm for sales.
Protein premiums for railcar wheat to and through Kansas City rose by 6 cents per bushel for wheat with protein ranging from 13 percent to 13.6 percent. Premiums held steady for wheat with other protein content. At 10:42 am CST (1642 GMT), K.C. March HRW wheat was down 5-1/2 cents at $4.39-1/2 a bushel. The May contract was 6-3/4 cents lower at $4.50-3/4 a bushel.
