Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Information, Moula Bux Chandio has said that the role of NAB has become controversial because of some statements given by political parties regarding its impartiality and now the bureau has to do something to restore and maintain its credibility. He was replying to a question on the occasion of condolence reference of senior photo-journalist Musthaq Ahmed Ajmeri held at Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) on Sunday.
He observed that when NAB was taking action against the PPP government in Sindh, its performance was being appreciated but when it started the same thing in Punjab so it was being threatened with dire consequences. On daily basis, it was being criticised by federal and Punjab ministers.
Condemning the attack on Hyderabad Press Club, he said that the district administration should have taken a pre-emptive measure to ensure the security of the HPC.
He said that he would personally take up the issue with the district administration for not taking notice of incident in time. He also assured that Sindh government would compensate the loss occurred to the club and journalists.
"Besides, the committee comprising me and other senior journalists would be formed to generate funds to support senior journalists," he said.
