Ziauddin University in collaboration with Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) on Sunday organised an international symposium on "Gynaecological diseases".
Speaking as the chief guest, Professor Noor Jahan Samad said that the symposium has provided an opportunity to senior and experienced doctors of different institutions to share their researches and firsthand knowledge with youngsters. Lauding the efforts of the organisers of the seminar, she said that such activities would help the emerging doctors to deal with the complex deceases in a better way.
About her vast experience, she said: "I have worked in Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for about 27 years. We used to spend much of the time handling emergencies. We could not find time for preventive obstetrics. But, today, I would strongly suggest the youngsters to focus on preventive obstetrics." Earlier, Fouzia Pesnani gave a presentation on nursing challenges in oncology and Professor Tariq Siddiqui spoke about the issues concerning surgeries. Dr Tasneem Aslam Tariq gave a brief presentation on postmenopausal bleeding, and hyperplasia management pathway: Case scenarios and take home message. The symposium was addressed, among others, by Dr Adnan Zuberi, Dr Quratulain Badar, Amina Mujib Khan.
It was followed by two workshops which were conducted by Dr Sarah Kazi, Dr Iram Khurseed and Dr Rahila Ali.
