Vehicle thefts and cases of armed robberies registered an upward trend in heavily guarded federal capital as seven vehicles were stolen or snatched away and burglars struck at six other places in the different parts of the city in last week.
Apart from the rise in criminal activities, including car theft, kidnapping, robbery and dacoity, a case of murder and several cases of dishonoured cheque were also reported to the various police stations of the city during the period under review. The auto thieves and robbers had a field day in the limits of Bara Kahu, Tarnol and Ramna police stations. Bara Kahu Police Station registered one case each of auto theft, murder and kidnapping during last week. Auto thieves stole a Suzuki van (T-1212) of Syed Hameed Shah from Ahmad Town. Sajjad Ahmad of Dokh Jilan lodged a complaint with the Bara Kahu Police Station that the accused Hassnain has killed his brother Shehzad Ahmad through a sharp edged weapon.
