MCC Islamabad's feat: plot to smuggle 1.750kg of heroin foiled

Pakistan Customs Staff of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad has foiled an attempt to smuggle 1.750 kgs of fine quality heroin to UK by post through International Mail Office (IMO) Chaklala. Sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the incident report is being sent by Dr Arsalan Subuctageen Collector MCC Islamabad. It is one of the major successful interceptions made by MCC Islamabad for stopping smuggling of heroin from Pakistan.
Details revealed that customs staff of MCC Collectorate of Islamabad has foiled an attempt to smuggle 1.750 Kgs of fine quality heroin, artfully concealed in the false bottom of Aluminium Utensils being sent by post through IMO Chaklala which was booked from Hazroo, Attock and was sent to Sheffield UK. The consignment has been seized on specific information of the Collector, who formed a dedicated team of Custom Officers under Assistant Collector (AC) Customs Sadia Usman. The team started monitoring of the consignments to be dispatched through IMO and intercepted a consignment containing huge quantity of heroin. A case under Customs Act 1969 has been registered and investigations have been initiated by the concerned authorities.
