Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the Federal Board of Revenue chief to take steps to pay stuck-up refund claims of export-oriented sectors immediately. LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Senior Vice President Almas Hyder and Vice President Nasir Saeed in their joint statement on Monday said.
"At present, when exports are stagnant and the export-oriented industry is in a dire need of resources, delay in paying the refund claims will add to the woes. The FBR should never hamper the growth of the most productive sectors by denying exporters and manufacturers from their right of refund of sales tax and income tax." They also said businessmen were bearing a huge financial cost on their own hard earned stuck-up money and urged the federal finance minister to take notice of the situation and issue directions to the bureau authorities to expedite the matter.
