Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 110,718 tonnes of cargo comprising 73,373 tonnes of import cargo and 37,345 tonnes of export cargo including 6,857 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 73,373 tonnes comprised of 34,095 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,506 tonnes of general cargo and 37,772 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,345 tonnes comprised of 35,245 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 6,857 containers comprising of 3,594 containers import and 3,263 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,251 of 20's and 1,056 of 40's loaded while 13 of 20's and 109 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 849 of 20's and 114 of 40's loaded containers while 494 of 20's and 846 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely APL Agate, Kota Karim, KMTC Mumbai, Salamis, Dong A Krios and Da Zi Yun carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Kota Karim, X-Press Kailash, YM Excellence, Loyal Pegasus, Ikan Jubal and Peace Angel carrying containers, oil tanker, fertiliser and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely OEL Dubai, X-Press Kailash and Maersk Messina carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
There were three vessels viz. Chemroad Wing, MT Karachi and Stolt Stream carrying oil tankers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while six vessels viz. Sima Giselle, Batam Trader, Bahamas, Karina Danica, Al Dasma and United Jalua carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total import cargo of 58,733 tonnes includes 29,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,300 tonnes of palm oil; 3,333 tonnes of palm kernelexp; 2,656 tonnes of LPG and 20,444 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 27,550 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There was one ship namely MT Al-Soor-II carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two ships namely CV Al-Bahia and CV Washington carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Al-Bahia, CV Washington, CV Albany, MV Fearless, MT GEW Future, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Atlantic Glory and MV Black Pearl-110 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm kernelexp, palm oil, diesel oil, chemical and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely CV CMA CGM Semson, CV MSC Conti Basel, CV Maersk Memphis, MV Diamond Sun, MV Ginga Marlin, MT Global Tanya, MT Maria, MT Tomson Gas, MT Quetta, MT Bahra and MT Bunga Akasia carrying containers, cement, chemical, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Semson, CV MSC Conti Basel, CV Maersk Memphis and MT Quetta carrying containers and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There was one ship namely MT Al-Gattara carrying LNG due to arrive on Tuesday.
