A delegation of the Communist Party of China called on Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Zardari House here on Tuesday. The delegation led by LI Jun, Assistant Minister of International Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China (IDCPC) included YUAN Ruidong, JIA Peng, WANG Bo, Wang Yuwei and TAN Wei, all senior officials of the IDCPC.
Chinese Ambassador in Islamabad Sun Weidong and a senior official of the Chinese embassy were also present in the meeting.
Chairman PPP was assisted by former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, former Minister Syed Naveed Qamar MNA, Senator Sherry Rehman, former deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, ex-MNA Palwasha Behram and Political Secretary Jamil Soomro.
Talking to the delegation, Bilawal Bhutto hailed the CPEC project for its enormous potential to not only spur development in Pakistan but also promote regional connectivity and thereby regional peace and stability.
Bilawal also lauded the role of China for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan as a member of the Quadrilateral Committee comprising Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the United States.
