Water & Sanitation (WatSan) Cell, local government and Rural Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), WASH Cluster KP and Fata to jointly commemorate "World Water Day" on Tuesday (today) with the theme "Water and Jobs" aimed at to create awareness among general public and save water for coming generation.
In this connection a seminar is being arranged at Local Governance School Hayatabad Peshawar. Representatives of local government, Public Health Engineering, Education departments, universities, NGOs, WASH Cluster, IRC, and UNICEF would attend it. Experts would present papers regarding current situation and challenges faced by water sector in Pakistan. WSSP runs 563 tube wells and providing clean drinking water to the consumers in four zones. So far 28 overhead water reservoirs had been rehabilitated while 25 more being rehabilitated. WSSP conducted 208 tests at source and consumers level.
