PPF to train trainers on journalism

Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in collaboration with DANIDA and International Media Support (IMS) is conducting trainings of trainers on journalism skills and journalism thematic reporting in Karachi. International trainer from Sri Lanka Ranga Kalansooriya, Regional Advisor for Asia, IMS will train the journalists participating from different parts of the country.
One training on Democracy and Governance Reporting, Conflict Reporting and Gender and Development Reporting will take place from March 24 to 26 at Arabian Sea Country Club, while other training on journalism skills of Reporting, Editing and News Production and Management will be organised from March 27 to 29 at the same venue. These trainings by the PPF are the part of a major project "Support to Media in Pakistan" that is being supported by the DANIDA, the development arm of the Danish Government, and implemented through Pakistani media development groups with technical assistance of the IMS. The project is aimed at improving media professionalism through better journalism practices and promoting a professional environment for journalists. In each training session, 15 journalists will be trained. Later, these 30 trained journalists will train more journalists in their relevant districts.
