Consignment of Indian drugs, 670 cell phones seized

A successful anti-smuggling operation of Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad Thursday resulted in a major seizure of consignment of Indian origin, smuggled, sexual potency enhancement drugs and 670 sets of mobile phones to the tune of millions of rupees. Sources told Business Recorder, here on Thursday the seizure of huge consignment of such kinds of Indian drugs and cell phone pointed towards intensified efforts of the Anti Smuggling Cell of Islamabad Model Customs Collectorate.
The enforcement actions have been intensified and successful interceptions have been made by the anti-smuggling staff of the MCC Islamabad. Based on data analysis of smuggling trends and information-based actions, the MCC Islamabad has chalked out a comprehensive strategy to check smuggling of consignments specifically through motorways. Moreover, the anti-smuggling operations have been expanded within the territorial jurisdiction of the MCC Islamabad, plugging the loopholes through serious efforts of the anti-smuggling staff.
Details revealed that the Anti Smuggling Cell of Islamabad Model Customs Collectorate seized near Rawat, a large consignment of more than 16 thousand Indian origin, smuggled, sexual potency enhancement drugs (Capsules and Tablets), along with 670 sets of mobile phones worth millions of rupees. FIR was registered; vehicle carrying the smuggled goods seized, driver arrested and investigations have been initiated against the smugglers.
