Safoora carnage: another accused among 20 held in Karachi

Law enforcement agencies on Thursday morning arrested another accused of Safoora carnage among 20 suspects during joint operation in different parts of the mega city. According to police sources, Police and intelligence agencies carried out action in Pipri area, the outskirts of Karachi, and arrested accused Ali Rehman alias Tona involved in Safoora bus attack. Sources said Tona is close aide of Kamran Gujjar, the accused was killed in Manghopir.
At least 45 people, including women and children, belonging to the Ismaili community were brutally massacred when armed terrorists had opened indiscriminate fire inside a bus near Safoora Chowrangi, Karachi in May 2015. Meanwhile, at least 19 people including former chairman Abad organisation Babar Mirza Chughtai were apprehended during a targeted operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in Gulistan-e-Johar area and weapons were also recovered from their possession. The arrested accused Babar Mirza was shifted to undisclosed place for further interrogation.
