The National Skills Show will prove to be a milestone in providing job opportunities to young generation, claims the chief minister is patronising the mission of the Technical and Vocational Training Authority (TVTA) for Yaqeeni Rozgar, said authority Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh on Tuesday.
He told participants at the show at the Expo Centre in Johar Town, "The purpose is to create awareness among the youth to get technical skills across the province of the Punjab. The efforts shall yield fruitful results generating maximum employment opportunities as business community has lauded the projects being prepared by the youth under training in authority Institutes.
"The TVTA is practically making struggle to arrange employments in national and multi-national organisations to its 40,000 pass-outs. More than 2,000 students have displayed their projects in this show which has been appreciated by the business community.
"The TVTA is imparting skills to the youth to make them useful citizen of the country. Without effective role of private sector, the government cannot achieve the targets to train the youth in employable trades and provision of jobs to them. The TVTA has introduced demand driven short courses on the recommendation of the private sector. It is the need of the hour that public and private sector should jointly contribute for the promotion of technical education across the province of the Punjab so that unemployment, terrorism and other social evils may come to end. We have to motivate our youth to get technical education so that they may get admission in short courses to get skilful training and after that become useful citizen of our society."
