The National Assembly Standing Committee on Communications met here on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Sufyan Yusuf to discuss the policy to set up Trauma Centers along motorways and highways with the help of Provincial Health Departments. The Committee also took briefing on dilapidated condition of Chakdara to Mingora Road.
The Chairman National Highways Authority briefed the Committee that National Highways Authority is making arrangement for establishment of the Emergency Response Centre (ERC) which would be equipped with ambulance facility, paramedic staff, first aid equipment and medicines.
These centers are proposed to be established at every 50 to 100 kms of National Highways and Motorways and in first stage the most vulnerable places in far flung areas of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan on priority. The Committee recommended to call all the Health Secretaries of the provinces in the next meeting. The meeting was attended by Dr Darshan, Ramesh Lal, Engineer Hamidul-Haq Khalil, Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, Naseema Hafeez Panezai, Maiza Hameed MNAs and Officers/Officials of the Ministry of Communications and National Highways Authority.-PR
