Fans of "The Simpsons" can now find their favourite scenes of the US animated series with just a few keystrokes. Fellow aficionados have compiled a database of the show's episodes, broken down into 3 million screenshots with corresponding quotes.
The full-text search on the website Frinkiac.com allows fans to use keywords and phrases to find the desired scene or scenes in episodes with matching themes. It's all in English. Foreign dubbings are not included.
Searching for the keyword "communism" will yield, for instance, a scene from "The Trouble with Trillions" (season 9, episode 20), first aired in 1998, in which Fidel Castro is breaking the news of a national bankruptcy and the end of communism to his followers.
What a convenient coincidence that Homer and nuclear power plant owner Mr Burns have decided to skip town and move to Cuba with a 1-trillion-dollar bill in an effort to evade taxes.
Pressing the "Make Meme" button allows users to create a picture with the corresponding dialogue or customised text, whereas "View Episode" features a scrollable, chronological overview of all screenshots and dialogues in an episode.
